Albania United is a nonpartisan civic campaign of the Albanian diaspora. Many of our members live in the EU, so we treat this policy as GDPR-compliant for everyone. In plain terms: we collect the minimum, we use it only to organize, we never sell or share it, and you can have it deleted at any time.

Who is responsible (data controller)

Albania United is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy — a nonpartisan civic campaign of the Albanian diaspora, run by volunteer organizers. For any privacy question, or to see, correct, or delete your data, email privacy@albaniaunited.org. That is the dedicated contact for all data requests, and we respond promptly.

What we collect

Only what you give us when you join: your name, email, the country and (optionally) city you live in, and — if you choose to answer — whether you're a citizen of the Republic of Albania, whether you hold a valid Albanian ID, the home district (qark) you're registered in, and whether you'd like to volunteer. We record your consent and the time you gave it. We do not collect payment information, and we do not track you across other websites.

Why we collect it (lawful basis)

Our lawful basis is your consent. We use your information for one purpose: to organize the movement and keep you informed — updates on the campaign, ways to help, and news that matters to the diaspora vote. The eligibility questions let us understand where the diaspora vote stands; they are never used to exclude anyone from the movement.

Who can see it

Your data is stored in an access-controlled database. It is readable only by a small number of authorized organizers, over encrypted connections. It is never sold, rented, or shared with any party, candidate, campaign, or third party. We publish no member lists and no counts tied to anyone's identity.

How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to authorized organizers and logged. We collect as little as possible precisely because we know members can be targeted — your public exposure is always your own choice, never ours.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it — at any time, no reason needed. Email us and we will act on the request promptly. If you're in the EU/UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as you're part of the movement. When you ask to leave or to delete your data, we remove your record within 30 days. We may keep a minimal record of your consent — the fact that you consented and when — for up to 24 months after you leave, solely as proof that we were permitted to contact you. We hold nothing else.
